Micah Drummond, Ph.D.
Scientific Advisory Board Member
Dr. Drummond’s translational research lab focuses on the mechanisms underlying disease, injury and disuse-induced skeletal muscle atrophy and metabolic disruption associated with age-related diseases. Research projects span from clinical to pre-clinical studies and hold to two general research themes: 1) Identifying the cellular and molecular mechanisms of skeletal muscle growth and metabolic function as a result of age, disuse and disease; 2) Utilizing therapeutic tools (nutritional, exercise, pharmacological) to limit and/or reverse muscle and metabolic deficits that occur as a result of aging, disuse and disease. Current research interest focus on the role of inflammation and immune cells on skeletal muscle remodeling and function in aging skeletal muscle.
